Des Moines Farmers Market Foundation Launches New Wines
With smoke rising from the chimney of the copper oven and pizza aromas in the air, the Des Moines Farmers Market Foundation recently launched the sale of its own wines with a grand tasting at Corky Cellars in Des Moines.
The Foundation said the tasting event was attended by more than a 100 supporters and was very successful, bringing in $1,500 in sales and donations. These monies and fund raisers like this will help the market to maintain stability for years to come.
The next day the wines went on sale at the market and will be available every Sat from 10 to 2pm at the South Marina Park. The wines will also be available at Corky Cellars during their normal business hours throughout the week.
When at the market stop by the wine booth and President, Wayne Corey will be glad to discuss the Foundation and how anyone can become involved in supporting the market.
The Foundation would like to thank all the market volunteers for staging this event and special thanks go to Ric & Diane Jacobson of Corky Cellars, Marshall Hansen & Walter Smith from Sonny’s Famous East Coast Pizza and Greg and Michaela Masset of the Masset Winery in Yakima for their support of the market and this endeavor.
